When I was in 2nd Grade my school had an Open House night, I was so looking forward to it because it was just going to be me and my mom; which wasn't a very common thing considering there were 4 of us kids and only one mom to run us all around.
My mom had been getting me very excited about the cookies and snacks they were going to have in the cafeteria. She kept saying "hurry up Lori or we're going to miss the cookies". We get there and as soon as we arrive I had to go to the bathroom because I was having a tummy ache. Ends up I'm just not feeling good at all, my tummy hurt and I had a headache and I told my mom that I wanted to go home. She said "you don't want to hang around and get a cookie", I felt horrible because I thought SHE wanted a cookie really bad; but I felt like hell and knew I wasn't going to make it. We ended up going home without a treat and I just remember feeling so bad for my mom because she didn't get a cookie. ~ Well, tonight is Nays open house and I'm going to make a special trip to the cafeteria and eat a cookie for my mom. (funny the silly things you remember from the childhood)
