Snot Nose

Yesterday I woke up with Nay's nasty cold,
being sick really is getting old!

I have snot in my nose, throat and head,
my brain will explode, it's what I dread.

What shall I do without my precious Mary??
I need Dr. Baker from little house on the prairie!!

Enough of this complaining, I'm starting to weep,
Now I'll go back to bed and get much needed Sleep!!

Friday Flash 55

You have brought so many changes to so many people, on many different levels.
You took a life from our family that brought so much pain, yet relief to us all.
You gave us a new life that irrefutably brought the family so much closer.
You brought tears and smiles.
Good bye 2007, hello 2008.

~~RIP Gramma Maddie, thank you for leaving us with such wonderful lifetime memories!! You will live in our hearts forever!!

~~Welcome aboard Ryan, you were definitely a little blessing to our entire family!!

Merry Christmas!!

'Twas the night before Christmas and Shoe is allowed in the house,
the family's all healthy even brown mist Mouse.

Meme and papa won't bake for a year,
but Uncle is happy with his 80's music cheer.

Little man is content with his new squishy ball,
while Mousey gets to watch his aquasaurs grow tall.

LeLe will finish her painting in good time,
she just can't stop until it's perfect and prime.

I spent way too much on my rotten kids by a mile,
but nothing beats that christmas smile!!

Mama Mist can't indulge in her evening drink,
cause christmas with a hangover would surely STINK.

Merry Christas to all my loved ones
and to all a good night!!! I love you all!!!

Friday Flash 55

We all hit a point where we reach
a fork in the river,
it's that point where you
decide which way is the best,
a right turn takes you down a path you don't know
a left turn leaves you were you are with
circumstances,
so I will sail my vessel
until the river runs dry.

Holidays as a blended family.

I found this in a Lady's Home Journal Artical and found it helpful..

Blended Family Holidays
After divorce or remarriage, many things change, including seasonal celebrations. Experts agree that minimizing holiday stress is one of the greatest gifts parents can give their kids -- here's how.

Making Kids Feel Special

"Give yourself permission to color outside the lines," she says. "Don't be locked into only Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Just brainstorm a little."
New Traditions Create a new holiday ritual for your child, Engel suggests. Perhaps every year your celebration will be a December party you host for your daughter's friends. Maybe an annual outing to see The Nutcracker can be your special time together. Or maybe from this year on, your big family gathering will be on July 4.

My ex and I have a not-so-traditional way of handling Christmas as far as Nathan is concerned. Christmas is for the children and just because we as a couple are separated we want it to be as comfortable and exciting as it can be for Nay. So, every year since we separated we have celebrated Christmas morning all together at Adam's house. Nathan usually stays at his daddy's Christmas Eve and I show up around 6 am and wake them both up and we all venture to the living room to enjoy the morning together. We all get stockings with special gifts and onions (the bigger the onion, the badder you were that year. I always get a gigantic one). I'm very grateful for the fact that we can still do this without any problems. I think it works out best especially for Nathan, but for Adam and I; as well

I love to wake up early in the morning
before the sun comes up.

Hot cup of fresh coffee in my hand,
curled up cozy in my favorite spot on
the couch.

It’s so quiet and peaceful, the only sounds
are muffled snores coming from bedrooms.

Then…"Mommy"!!!!

MY time is over and the best TIMES start.

Nay's biggest hero!

Friday Flash 55

It will sneak up on you in the blink of an eye,
You never know when it will catch you off guard.

Young or old, boy or girl,
It has no prejudice.

Taking a stroll down the street,
Shopping aimlessly in a store,

You could be absolutely anywhere…
At any time..

Curse the Brown Mist!
